OK - time to come clean: Craziest New Year's stunt

I'm afraid mine isn't very wild, but it was a little nuts. I'm sure you've all heard of the Polar Bear Club - people who go for a swim in the ocean on New Year's Day. A couple of friends of mine and I took it to the next level on Jan 1, 1971. We didn't wait to go swimming in the ocean until the sun came up - we went in the ocean at midnight.  Air temp: 38   Water temp: 53 ... and a nice brisk wind. Lasted about 10 minutes
