I see this post is a couple of years old but thought I would still reply here and revive it.
We did play at the Harrahs in Shreveport and really enjoyed them for a few years . Then the problems started. If you are planning a trip to one of them now and you make resvervations for rooms or they have sent you vouchers to play on be sure to double check before going.
Three times our rooms were given away, the last time they gave us a hotel off site the problem with it was the staff and parking. The first key we got ,we walked in on a couple in a shower, the second key same place the door would not lock.We got a room finally and then we find out the only parking is about a block down the street on the street.
We then had problems with retracting voucher amounts. We would get there and then be told that either the voucher was a missprint or we had to play all of it in one machine.
The last event we went to was a dinner and a drawing for money. Was really odd how everybody that won was known by their first name . I am talking really chummy first name friendly basis
We have started going to other places to play less benefits but seems machines are a lot kinder
That totally sucks you didn't have the best experience at Harrah's but since you have a contact there and a big name to throw around (Belgamo lol) now, maybe when you're ready to give them a try again, you should contact Belgamo's host. Let her know what you have gone through and see what she may do for you.
We have a host as well and have spent some pretty big money there. They changed our host 4 times in a year.
The last time we were there we could not believe the people there doing nothing but complaining to their host.
We were Diamond members for some time and only a short step from being a seven star member. They have done away with so many of the percs that one use to get.
Rooms no longer guarenteed,no priority at the meal lines any longer, the diamond and sevenstar lounge had been reduced to a small cubby hole and the last time there it was completely closed. Special parking area and valet parking almost nonexistenet
Just caution everyone to check and double check before going and make sure what ever you have is honored
WOW! i have not run into anything like that and I visit Vegas several times a year, also visited Biloxi, New Orleans, Windsor, St Louis and Cherokee harrahs propertys within the past year.
Can you tell me if your a local player at harrahs property or do you have to vacation to visit them. I ask because i know theoretical scores have a lot to do with comps. A local player who plays very often can achieve a high tier score just like a player who visits only so often and bets heavy, but behind the scenes have a lower theoretical. When you factor in the theoretical score of wager amount and time spent on machine, a lower score is often obtained by local players due to they go more often, but don't bet as high as a vacationer. This lower score will effect offers and perks.
So far as host goes, i would try to get a regional marketing host from harrahs vs a local host at the casino. They can do a hell of alot more and have sub host at all the harrahs propertys. I guess I should be referring to them as Ceasers entertainment since they switched from using harrahs. i suggest googling for a their regional marketing center for your area and make contact with a rep.
We are not local per say we are about 170 from Shreveport and usually go there, we have played at Tunica ,New Orleans,Biloxi, and as far north as council bluffs
We have not played there in the last year or so.
Something else they do depending on the casino you take your points for cash and some take it out of your overall points which dop away with your meals and rooms. This in most casses they do not tell you. Other places will give you cash from your points that do not affect your meals and comp rooms
They mave hot woke up and realized what they were doing was driving business away and have changed a lot of the way they were doing things. I do know that the diamond percs are gone for parking as well as some of the other percs.
I am glad to see they are still treating some very well, and this may not be the case in Vegas.
I did have a friend just come back from there and was told that now the wiatress have to pay for drinks and if you do not tip them or move and they can't find you then they are stuck for the drink .
I did have one waitress tell me at shreveport that they had to pay 50 cents for the drinks that they took to slot players and hoped they would get a tip and be able to find the person. If they did not get a tip then they were out the 50. She did not say if this applied to table players
will definitely give Meryl a call soon when I take a vacation to a Ceasar's/Harrah's casino cluster here in the next few months. :) Thanks for the hookup, Belgamo ;)
I'll definitely let everyone know of my experiences when I'm getting pampered and treated like the king that I am.
