Hi Gang: I am such a HUGE music fan. I love so many different types.
I thought it would be so much fun to make a thread where we can all post our favorite song/video and share them with each other.
There is some great music out there and I am so looking forward to finding out what everyone else enjoys. Oldies, Country, Rock, Pop, you get the idea.
Without further ado.......Let the music begin..................
Fortunately, the original version of this song is waaaay better than the movie - but it's so long that it had to be broken into 2 files for Youtube. I'm hoping that some of you can relate to the time when this was recorded ...
This cat knew how to play that guiter, just a bit. Made it look easy, and fun. As a guitar player myself, Stevie is one of my all time Heros. If I had an ounce of his talent, I'd be famous too.
My Father introduced me to Merle on the road trips we used to take going up North for the weekends. I heard this song, and I was hooked. My Father was not a nice man but you put Merle on the radio and he was a different man. I will take this as a plus, and I thank him for teaching me about some wonderful music out there.
This was supposed to be the next superstar in 1963 - then came Beatlemania and Billy J Kramer disappeared into oblivion. Who wrote this song for him? An unknown pair of songwriters named Lennon and McCartney ...
Anyone remember Annette and Frankie Avalon? Can you imagine Annette and Frankie Avalon doing the "Freddie"? Have you even HEARD of the Freddie? Regale in the magic that was the "Freddie" - led by Freddie of Freddie and the Dreamers
Can you say" talented?" While kids in the 80's were listening to Madonna and others, I was learning all the Roy Orbison songs I could get my hands on. True Story.
Jim was once thought to of lived a sad life to be able to sing the sad songs that he did, the way he did. When asked, Jim said " I have nothing to be sad about."
Here is one of my favorite "videos" that a couple of IT "geeks" showed me at my old job. If you have ever been subjected to a PowerPoint presentation, you will TOTALLY appreciate this. I pose this question to you, which font are you?

I was a whopping 18 when this song was big. Had a brand new car, and thought I knew everything. I had neighbors who called the police on me for playing my music to loud. If I remember correctly........It was because of THIS song. Enjoy...............
