Atlantic City's $45 Million Loss Due To Hurricane Irene
The 11 hotels and casinos in Atlantic City may have made it through the hurricane but their pockeybooks didn't.
It's estimated that the casinos lost up to $45 million in revenue over this last weekend. All due to hurricane Irene.
The casinos began shutting down on Friday with the storm approaching and reopened on Monday and when they did, it was not a pretty sight. Even though the buildings escaped with out damage, gambling revenue got hit very hard.
This is the 3rd time that all the casinos in Atlantic City have been shut down at the same time in 33 years, since the first casino opened there.
