There was a hearing last week where supporters for online gambling in the US had their voices heard and found support from Rep. Mary Bono Mack. She is the chairwoman of the House Energy and Commerce Committees Manufacturing sub-committee.
After hearing stories about how much money was leaving the US, in the tune of roughly $6 bilion annually, how the UIGEA did not stop US players from gambling online and how not so nice offshore casino operators were stealing the US players blind, the committee is now committed to going forward with rules and regulations for online gaming in the US.
There is an understanding across the board that it is time to regulate the online casino industry in the United States.
