Internet Poker Applications Under Review In Nevada
Mark Lipparelli, the Nevada state Gaming Control Board Chairman, says there have been "intrastate" online poker applications received and are being reviewed. He did not say which companies and that there are only about 5 or 6 so far.
There is no regulation set in Nevada yet and Lipparelli feels that "activating" and application may not be "ideal". Dec 22 is the date that regulators will sit down to set the ground rules.
It was reported that the control board was going to start taking applications in February of next year but that didn't mean that was when apps would be taken only. It was expected that Nevada would be fully ready to start reveiwing applications then.
Looks like the ball is starting to roll in Nevada as they keep US federal hearings in consideration.
