The largest (tallest to be more precise) attraction in Las Vegas should be open towards the end of 2013. Caesars Entertainment will break ground for their massive 550 foor tall Ferris wheel next month. This is major news as Sin City has been suffering through hard times for quite some time now. But for the last 16 months, it has seen an increase of visitors. There are plans for a $550 million entertainment district where the Ferris wheel will be the main attracttion. Included in the district will be shops, bars, nightclubs and restaurants. This will be known as The Linq. Since 2009, this will be the largest building and finanial undertaking.Caesars CEO Gary Loveman says It would be the centerpiece of a trip for a lot of people. Confidence is growing, as well as visitors to Las Vegas, with the news of this 550 foot tall Ferris wheel!

The High Roller observation wheel is seen halfway completed Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013. The wheel is part of Caesars Entertainment's $550 million Linq retail-entertainment-restaurant development. The High Roller is taking shape on the Las Vegas Strip.Half of the 550-foot-tall observation wheel is jutting into the sky above the Linq entertainment district, which is under construction between the Imperial Palace and Flamingo. When finished, the High Roller will be the largest observation wheel in the world - bigger than the London Eye or Singapore Flyer. Towering at the end of the Linq's 1,200-foot pedestrian walkway, the High Roller will feature 28 glass-enclosed cabins for stunning views of the Strip. Each cabin is slated to have a capacity of 40 people.Caesars Entertainment Corp., the company behind the $550 million retail-entertainment-restaurant development, projects 4 million to 5 million riders in the wheel's first year of operation.A single revolution will take 30 minutes.source
