Basic Casino Etiquette By Christina Applebaum Casinos have rules. Some are actual regulations and policies, others are a sort of unwritten but understood etiquette. [Granted this may be tough for those who have never set foot in a casino to know] It's pretty easy to navigate a casino even if it's your first time without a major breech of this etiquette as long as you know a couple of things going in. 1. The Casino is in Charge You are not at Burger king. The customer is not always right and you do not get to have it your way. Say for instance if you are playing a table game and an mistake is made. The Pit Boss will be called to deal with is and they will follow company policy to determine the solution. This may or may not involve giving you your money back. Getting angry won't change anything but it may get you removed or even banned from the casino. 2. Don't Get Drunk Getting a little lose, having a little fun is fine. Getting drunk, drunk, is never never a good idea while playing at a casino for several reasons. Its going to affect you judgment in a situation where you are risking money among other things, even if the drinks were free and they gave them to you...getting super drunk can also get you removed from the casino. 3. Mind Your Own Cards How anyone else chooses to play their hands is their business and none of yours and vise versa. Nobody wants some one at the table telling everyone how to play. Laugh, have fun but do not scream and cheer or try to high five the other players every time you win a hand. Remember everyone in the casino is betting money [some of them are betting A LOT of money] but either way - no one wants to listen to all that. These are the top 3 faux pas I see people committing when I visit the casino.
