Cloned Quarter Horses Should Be Allowed To Register With The AQHA Says A Jury

A federal court jury said, on Tuesday, that cloned horses should be allowed to register with the American Quarter Horse Association. This could possibly clear the way for cloned horses to compete in races in the US. Two Texas ranchers filed the suit against the AQHA saying that the association violated the federal Sherman Antitrust Act and the Texas Free Enterprise and Antitrust Act. The ranchers had also asked for $2 million to $5 million but received no monetary award. So what does this all mean? It does not mean that cloned horses will automatically be registered with the AQHA but the hope is that there will not be legal proceedings every time horse owners want to register a cloned horse. Does this mean that cloned horses will be allowed to race in races that are sanctioned by the AQHA? That has yet to be seen. source-- Edited by Mben on Tuesday 6th of August 2013 02:36:56 PM
