Fantasy Football - A Form Of Gambling? - I Thought It Was Just a Game!

Well it's a good thing that those of us who are in this year's Fantasy Football league on the forum are members of a gambling forum. According to this article, a former New Hampshire deputy county attorney was being investigated for using his business email account to talk about Fantasy Football. He is not going to be charged in this case. Being the naive person that I am, I laughed at my brother after I told him I was playing Fantasy Football again this year because he said Oh, so you're gambling all your money way. I'm like Huh? That's not gambling. I may have to rethink what is considered gambling in people's eyes.Does that mean Superbowl pools, where a lot of the transactions are done at places of employment by the way, are considered gambling? If you buy squares, are you gambling? And what about the NCAA Basketball tournament? Same thing?Ok, if you answered yes to all those questions, then you agree with this definition. According to Wikipedia Gambling is the wagering of money or something of material value (referred to as the stakes ) on an event with an uncertain outcome with the primary intent of winning additional money and/or material goods. Typically, the outcome of the wager is evident within a short period. So to me, the stock market is one giant casino then!Anwyay, I'm rambling about gambling! Just letting you know if you participate in a Fantasy Football league, don't discuss it at work via the company's email. It may get you in hot water. Unless you work for a gambling forum! lol
