This story is a few days old but I thought I would share it anyway.Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino in Florida mailed out flyers to their players inviting them to their Fat Tuesday promotion. Gulfstream's closest competitor is the Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale Beach and as Michael Goldin, Gulfstream's director of marketing said You know, they should really own Fat Tuesday because of their name, so we decided to create a parody. We wanted something people could have fun with. The promotion consisted of giving away free Krispy Creme donuts and 10 cents per pound free play! The scale went up to 500 pounds and players who did not get the invite to step on the scale could do so if they earned 50 slot points on Tuesday. It's the second year for the promotion. Last year, we wondered if people would do it, and we had some pretty big boys show up, Goldin recalls. People aren't as shy as you'd think. We don't care if they have lead in their shoes, or bring their purse up with them -- and we round up. So if my calculations are correct, I would have received $xx.xx in free play! hahaha Did you really think I would tell ya what my free play would be? lol
