Hurricane Irma Expected To Cause Disruptions To Gambling Sites

Powerful Category 4 Hurricane Irma is expected to pass over or near the island of Antigua, which just happens to be one of the main online gambling jurisdictions.

Wagering firms , Winner Casino, Titan Poker, Titan Bet and Intertops will see the most exposure though Bovada does have satellite offices in other jurisdictions with all banking conducted outside of Antigua. Service disruptions in the form of placing wagers ahead of this weekend’s NFL opening season are likely, however, and Gambling911 would encourage folks to place all bets early.

“We’re looking at Irma as a very significant event,” Ronald Jackson, executive director of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency, said by phone. “I can’t recall a tropical cone developing that rapidly into a major hurricane prior to arriving in the central Caribbean.”

Antigua was expected to begin feeling the affects of Irma as early as Tuesday.

These sites are based either fully or partially operated from the island of Antigua:

Intertops
Bovada
Bodog.eu
RummyRoyal
Winner Bingo
Winner Casino
Winner Live Casino
Winner Mobile
Winner Poker
Winner UK Casino
Winner UK Games
Winner UK Live Casino
Winner UK Sportsbook
Casino Tropez
Titan Bet
Titan Casino
Titan Poker
Titanbet UK Casino
Titanbet UK Poker
Titanbet UK Sports

(Hurricane Irma is now a category 5 storm)

Titan is a big one over here in the UK. I play at Bet365 and PlayOJO so hopefully won't be effected. Hope everyone in Florida is alright and Irma doesn't do much damage. It might rain a lot in the UK but hurricanes aren't something we have to deal with.

Hi JoshG09...hopefully everyone will be okay. It is important to be proactive in times like these I guess.

Thanks for the post, and you stay dry.
