When I read the title of this news item, I thought Here we go again. The fork made me fat, not me. The gun killed the person, not me. The car ran them over, not me. No one wants to take responsibility of their own actions anymore. They want to blame it on the action they took with the tool they used and then blame the tool . So this family is suing the casino because their family member drank himself to death. Not that it was the guys fault he chose to drink himself to death but rather the casinos fault for providing the alcohol. After reading the story and if this is actually what happened, I might be siding with the family on this one because they did request that he stopped being served repeatedly . You can read the short story here. What are your thoughts?

Tough call. I don't know if the casino did anything illegal. They certainly were stupid and unfeeling. There is a comment there that the family should have taken him out of the casino, which is also true. I wonder why they didn't?

i agree with crazyshell, it is not the casino's fault. for one thing how is the casino to know of this man's injuries, and i know from working in a casino it is the person's responsibility to stop drinking, anyone could say please don't serve him alcohol because he is on meds even if the person is not on meds and the one asking to stop serving is because they don't drink or condone the consumption of alcohol. it is the person drinking that should say no more, now if he was sitting at the bar then the bartender has the option to cut off a patron if they think the patron has had to much to drink.

I agree with robsmom. This is a tuff call. All the family had to do was take him out of the casino. They didnt.Asking the casino to stop serving him could of been a successful intervention as well. Why did the casino keep right on letting him drink? It will be interesting to see how this pans out.We are all responsible for our own actions. Pam
