silverVette, can you tell me exactly where the Microsoft download folder is at? I am getting the unable to create file error message when I try to install games now after I reinstalled a few RTG casinos. iNetBet has tried to walk me through some fixes but nothing has worked. So I would like to give your fix a shot.  FreeSpin, I am getting installation failed when I try to reinstall my Rivals. I get about half way through the install and then bam, it fails. What more info can I give you to see what fix you may have? Thanks to the both of you for your technical expertise!

glad to help.  go to microsoft downloads, click on letter G , click on games, click on msn gaming zone fix for error: Zone setup failed to set up path . click download.  now this fix is from 1999, your computer will tell you it might be dangerous for you computer, right click, click on run  anyway .     30 seconds later you are in business on all rtg casinos.   I don't know why it works but it does.  my rtgs were down 3 months. i even had toshiba replace harddrive on  a 2 month old computer.  i have the later version of java, reader, flash player, shock player, air, silverlight and i also only use microsoft security essentials . after six months i can honestly say ii've never had one virus.  75% of my use is casinos so we have to be very careful     hope this works for you.

Can you tell me how to get there? I need a file or folder path, please. I did a search for Microsoft downloads and then just Microsoft and could not find the folder.

Mben, silverVette is talking about the Microsoft Downloads website, not something on your computer. Here's a link to the Zone setup ... download http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=ac8af201-8984-47c6-b0d8-2cbef6fd1207

silvervette here. thats right about going on the ie for microsoft downloads. i'm not a computer whiz by any means. just a nana who suddenly can't work and has nothing better to do than spend 16 hours a day for 2 months looking for a quick fix, operative word being quick. haha luv those slots tho.

mben did it work for you?  after the download just open any rtg you have downloaded and click on your slots. that does take a while at first. guess it has to repair the path. silverVette

Unfortunately, no, it didn't work. I did the Microsoft game download, uninstalled iNetBet, rebooted and then reinstalled the casino and then tried the game install and I get the same error unable to create file . I'm not in dire need of the games at the casinos they won't install at because I do have other RTG's that have most all games installed. And because there is instant play for most of the RTG's. iNetBet does not have instant play though so that casino is the one I want fixed but like I said, it is not urgent.

Just a thought (and no idea if it makes a difference or if it would help, but ...) - what browser are you using? If it is IE, you might try downloading Google Chrome and installing it. When it asks if it should be your default browser, click yes - then download and try to install one of the RTG casinos. If that works, but you want to go back to IE as your default browser, the next time you open IE it will tell you that it isn't the default browser - do you want to make it default? You can click yes and everything would be back to the way that you had it originally except that the RTG would now be installed and ready to go.

I have Chrome installed and it is my default browser. I have IE8 too (oh and FireFox) but after reading signman's post about installing IE9 and then uninstalling after he got his games installed, I thought I would give that a shot. IE9 that is. Thanks PSP.

Yes, I have had Rivals installed on this PC. I cleaned out my casinos a few months back and now realize why I had so many installed. Because of the free chip here and the free chip there. It did me no good to leave just one of each platform installed. lol Thanks FreeSpin.

I think that you need Windows 7 for IE9 - I'm still in XP mode

FreeSpin..yes, at one time i was able to download rival even when rtgs were down. gradually they ceased as did rtg. understandfirst, i got a new toshiba satellite notebook in october. for about six weeks everything was great. i made a big score in rushmore 10k freeroll, made my w/d request, and immediately lost the ability to get slots download from them. after about 2 weeks i lost all rtgs. tried everything even erased hard drive, sent it in to toshiba, got another harddrive put in., started again. no rtgs. then i noticed couldn't download rival. Heres what i have: toshiba satellite 455D-S5976 AMD sempron SI-42 2GB ram, 250GB hdd, windows 7sp1, ati 3100 graphics, silverlight 4, ie9, adobe AIR, shockplayer 11, flash player 10.2, reader x, ..ok with my littlel fix msn gaming zone error fix i have rtgs working. rival fail halfway thru with some like error 49999930048. any suggestions???

silverVette, I'll see if the loader.exe has anything to do with it and will let you know. I am still in the middle of trying to get my Rival casinos installed and my RTG games installed when I find the time to mess with them. Not a fun chore at all. lol

I am talking about rival casinos when i 'm talking about it using loader.exe in installation. all the rival casinos download with their own installer. i can save to a folder that part is fine. it's the actual installation that is faulty. that's where i see the loader.exe

Mben, did you see my posts yesterday in the Chatbox about this? If not, I found several people online who had a similar problem - there appeared to be 2 solutions:1. If you can, restore your system to the time before you deleted the RTGs2. Another person found that making sure that all of the remnants of the RTGs were gone from your uninstall. They did this using a free program called Revo Uninstaller:http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.htmlThey also had better luck if they temporarily turned off their virus protection while installing, then turning it back on.

PSP, I did see it that night ... THANK YOU! But by the time I was done, I was wiped out from trying anything more. I think the restore will be my last resort and will give Revouninstaller a try now. I did shut off all services through MSConfig thinking there may be a program conflict. That should have turned off my Anti Virus. silverVette, FreeSpin thinks the loader.exe is correct and that either one appearing is ok. And thanks to FreeSpin for your time helping me with this too!

WOOHOO!
And now I am positive too, that it was my Cricket Broadband stick that was causing the RTG game install and the Rival casino install errors. I connected through the wireless internet at my daughters house on my latptop (which was giving me the same errors as I had on my desktop with the Cricket stick) and I am able to install everything and anything I want. Not that I wasn't listening to ya, lovekitty but I should have listened a while ago. The thing, though, is that everything was installing with the stick just fine every since I got it and since I was able to connect to the internet with it still, I couldn't understand how it went bad to where it just couldn't install RTG games or Rival casinos. Live and learn!

I deleted everything related to say Casino Titan using the regedit and then reinstalled, tried to install a game and same error. I've really done it all on this PC except for trying a different internet connection. When I get around to it, I will try to hook the cable modem that is in the house to here but that means running a cord across the house, etc, etc and right now, I don't have the time. And if that works (I will eventually try the cable), then we know for sure it was the internet connection, right?

Spend the big bucks (upward of $30 on sale) and get a wireless switch for the cable modem - you'll be a happy camper!

Whoops, I thought I posted my final fix weeks ago. Once again, it was the broadband stick I was using. I plugged into the cable modem, here at the house I'm at, on my desktop and viola ...... all my RTG games installed without errors. The laptop had been installing games with the wireless connection, they have here at the house too, since I switched to that from my Cricket stick, just to test it.
