I'm making my first trip to Vegas Easter weekend with my oldest son, and will just ne there Saturday through Tuesday. My son Jim likes to play Texas Hold Em and I just play the slot machines. We have a few things in mind that we want to  see, one of them,  the fountains at Bellagio, anyway I was wondering if anyone had any thing to share with me, cool things to see, good inexspensive places to eat, and best places to play Texas Hold Em and Slots for a low rider!

While you walk along the strip at night, you will see all the casino/hotel fronts and their amazing water shows and lights. You will see places to eat everywhere too! I can't suggest anywhere as there are too many things to see and places to eat at.But I was going to mention Freemont Street as K5M38 did. You have to make it down there to see the light show on the ceiling of the street. Maybe do the Zip Line while you're there too! Whatever you do, you will have the best time regardless! You will be like a kid in Disneyland!!!! :maddance: Enjoy your trip, sls!!!!! Oh, we want pictures when you come back! :thumb:

Be sure to visit all the hotels they are beautiful inside. The Venetian Hotel is gorgeous. Oh and the Wynn and Encore is beautiful, we stayed at the Encore when we went, it was amazing. Didn't get to visit inside Ceasars because something was going on and they made everyone turn around, but it looked to be beautiful by the pictures I seen. Will have to visit on my next trip.Didn't get to see Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens and didn't get to see the wildlife zoo inside the hotels, forget which hotels, they have like lions inside glass or something. I probably would have freaked out anyway. Have Fun!!

We are staying at Circus Circus this time, my step-father goes to the trade shows at the convention center and always stays there, hes booked over 100 nights there!!  He advised me to get a room in the west tower above the 30th floor on the strip side so we will have a nice view!!  I did some research and found out they have some texas hold em tourneys my son wants to play, I didnt realize it was so far away from everything else on the strip, I have asthma so cant walk very far in the heat, and dont want to pay for a cab so I've checked into riding the monorail,  its about $13 for a 24 hr pass. Theres 2 airlines that fly nonstop from Boise,  Idaho to Vegas its an hour 40 minute flight. My son is 38 years old and this will be his first time on a plane, I am really looking forward to this I've wanted to go for a long time and just decided to say the hell with it, I'm going!                  :thumb:

the talking statues at Caesars Palace are kewl, the pirate show at Treasure Island if fun to watch. You gotta go to the Pawn Stars Pawn Shop and see the old man, rick, corey and chumley! I don't know if you watch pawn stars on history channel but if i ever get to vegas again pawn stars here i come lol. you gotta go to fremont street and see the lazer light show that is really kewl. btw all these things are free to go to. if you want to go to a show i think a must to see is Cirque du Soleil at the mirage. they do 4 or 5 different shows and i must say they put on one hell of a show. worth every penny you spend.a little tip for you, i lived in vegas for 3 years and managed a casino so i pretty much know the scoop. i would recommend that when you gamble you don't gamble in las vegas. vegas is set up for the tourist, and you can almost guarantee that your not going to win alot if any at all. henderson is about 15-20 minutes east of vegas and the casinos there are geared to the town people and your chances of winning are better there. when i lived in henderson i won 22k in a 6-8 hr time frame. the places to go is the eldorado on water street, the roadhouse and the jokers wild on boulder hwy. at the roadhouse they have a really cool soda fountain staight out of the 1920's era, yum! excellent place to go, they also have antique car shows on the weekends. if you can get out to lake mead and see hoover dam that is awesome sight to see. if you play in vegas play really late at night if you can, like midnight to about 5 am, the slots seem to hit better than they do during the day. you don't have to do any of these suggestions, but whatever you decide to do the most important thing of all is HAVE FUN oh and bring summer clothes it will be in the high 90's that time of year

Thank-you for all of your replies! I know I'm going to have to cram a lot into just 3 days, but I'm really looking forward to it, and I always enjoy hanging out with my son, we went to Reno the last 3 years and wanted to do something different this year, and also an hr and 40 minutes on a plane sure as heck beats a 6 hr drive each way to Reno!
