According to Macau Business .... A total of 42 casino visitors were fined MOP400 (US$50) each, for smoking in non-designated areas in the first 19 hours after the new partial ban on smoking inside casinos was enacted, the Health Bureau said in a statement.Of those people, the majority (21) were tourists from the mainland, nine from Hong Kong, and eight from other places. Four people were local residents.Under the new rules, enacted yesterday, smoking inside casinos is only allowed in designated areas.Casinos can allocate up to 50 percent of their gaming floor space as smoking areas. All of Macaus 44 gaming venues, including casinos and slot machine parlours, have obtained permission to set up smoking areas from January 1.However, parts of the smoking areas in seven casinos Lisboa, Kam Pek, Casa Real, The Legend Club, Grand Lisboa, Sands Cotai Central and MGM Macau were not ready when the ban on smoking was enacted. The Health Bureau says that some of the larger casinos have more than one smoking area. I can't imagine not being able to smoke while playing! Who would want to get up off of a hot machine to go smoke? Not me! I would be one cranky customer, that's for sure!

My local casino has the entire back of the casino designated as Non-smoking. (I never go back there.) :lol:The games are just as good I hear, yet, non smokers are always in the smoking section complaining when I light up. Gee, there is a whole section in the back for you. I always say.Regardless, I always get dirty looks and people unhappy I have lit up. GrrrrrI love it when I sit down, and the person next to me lights up. I know I am not going to get read the riot act for simply having a cigarette in the SMOKING section.Although it is allowed where I sit, I more than not, get a non smoker next to me, and I get the look and frown, where they wave their hand in front of them to show their displeasure.I keep right on smoking, and point to the non smoking section.

Heck they just banned smoking in my apartment complex. I have to go outside at least 15 feet from any door entrance to smoke. I think all of us smokers should file a discrimination lawsuit against the gov. Wasn't this country built on tobacco?

OMG!!!I know even smokers frown on smoking inside their home, but when my upstairs neighbor cussed and slammed his bedroom window one day when I was smoking outside (right under his window lol), I decided to start smoking inside. But in my bathroom with the fan going. Are you not allowed to smoke inside, tking? Not that I would encourage that but just wondering if that was banned also. This country was built on whatever put money in the pockets of those who run it and now is being over ran by politically correct idiots. lolI understand that I am invading their space with my smoke but they are invading my life with their whining and crying and the simple pleasure I have with smoking. I am courteous to others as much as I can be but I am gritting my teeth all the while. Sorry to offend our non-smokers. :cigar:

Hi Mben, They banned it inside also, which is o.k, but I can't smoke on my own porch is rediculous. I guess they own the air outside also. I'm also courteous to non-smokers, I just wish it was returned with a ty when I move away from them instead of a dirty look. I remember when I was about 18 and you could still smoke inside buildings etc, I was using a public telephone and I was smoking. This lady (B-TCH) came over and got on the phone next to me, looked at me with a stink face and told me forcefully to put out my cig. out . I said to her that I was here first and that she came into my space, so no I'm not putting it out and if you don't like it leave. I understand the inside rules being smokless, but if we have to smoke outside in the rain and snow at least give us a warm place to smoke, especially for us tenants that moved in with no smoking limits at all. The only thing I can say good is that they did let us know last January 2012 that it would start Jan 2013. I like to smoke but before long we won't have a place to do it.

Remember that? Being able to smoke inside businesses and such! The hostess at a restaurant would ask smoking or non? lol Wow, that seems like forever ago. And all I have to say about not having a place to smoke eventually is ... freedomsmokeusa.com here I come! https://www.nodepositforum.com/t52058060/what-are-your-2013-new-years-resolutions/
