The numbers are in and they are pretty good. A grand total of approximately 17,000 people took advantage of a five-day test period to kick off real money Internet gambling in New Jersey. An average of 3000 new users signed on each of the days.In total, six Atlantic City casinos were granted permission to take part in the Thursday through Monday test phase. While there were a few glitches, the initial test was considered a rousing success overall. It looks like people are keen to play, Anna Sainsbury, CEO of GeoComply, told the Associated Press. Her company provides geolocation technology to many of the six Atlantic City casinos.Wall Street ratings agencies, including Moody's and Fitch, say Internet gambling in New Jersey should bring in between $200 million to $500 million in its first year - far below the $1.2 billion Gov. Chris Christie's administration is expecting. Christie, however, may have been including sports betting within that figure. Thus far the Courts have prohibited wagering on sporting events. Christie has vowed to take the case all the way to the US Supreme Court. The casino operators are taking full advantage of the new legal climate. PartyPoker.com is advertising heavily in the New York City metopolitan market. Gambling911.com caught two PartyPoker ads airing in the first half of the WCBS 5 pm local newscast as an example. source

I think it would be so weird to see a commercial for an online gambling site on TV. But I hope to see one soon in AZ!
