US District Judge Leonard Sand has approved an agreement between PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker that consists of PokerStars paying the US government $547 million over the next 3 years. Full Tilt Poker handed over their assets to PokerStars. Absolute Poker is the 3rd company whose deal has not been approved yet. Former US customers that had their money seized in the amount of $184 million can now be reimbursed by the US government as well as other customers who had their accounts seized all over the world. Handing the US govenrment does not mean there was any wrong doing or admission of guilt by the poker rooms as far as what they were charged with. It is a way that the company can get the money to the players that are owed and allows PokerStars to re-enter the US online market if the laws do change in the US eventually. In a statement, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said the deals will allow us to quickly get significant compensation into the victim players' hands. It took 15 months but the victims will now get back what was theirs. source
