    Casino Players Club Cards
    By Christina Applebaum

Not too long ago casinos only rewarded table game players with comps. That was because back then, most the casino's income came from table game players. Comps (short for complimentary) are now available to all players in the casino that are playing with their Players Club cards.

During the 1980's in Atlantic City, casino's were trying to keep players in their casino rather than having them hop from casino to casino, that is when Slot Clubs began to emerge. Rewarding their player's loyalty helped keep the players coming back. Now Players Cards are offered in most casinos and are good for all games not just slots.

Using your Players Club card can earn you all kinds of rewards. Anything from free meals or concerts and shows to free hotel rooms or free play and much, much more. But you need to have a Players Card and you need to use that players card to get these comps. Getting the card is easy enough you need only to sign up at the Players Club desk when you get to the casino.

Many players feel they don't play enough to earn anything but those points can add up quicker than you might think. How many times have you put a small amount of money in a slot machine but then managed to play that machine for an hour on just what you put in? Casinos call that "churn" when players keep putting their small wins back in and continue playing. It's possible that you "churned" several hundred dollars through that machine during the hour you played. That's several hundred dollars you could be getting rewarded for.

Another reason players don't use the cards is one of the biggest myths out there and that myth is they think it affects the way the machine pays. There is NO truth to this misconception whatsoever, though it is widely believed.

I always use my card and as far as I'm concerned the only way you lose with one is by not using it. I recommend to you folks that aren't using a Players Club card for whatever reason to try it next time. It may surprise you to learn how many rewards you've been missing out on.
