    For southerners, we don't have to travel far to get our casino fix. Mississippi is centrally located and home to 8 casino resorts. The first one opened up in the early 1990's and once housed 11 different casinos. If you have never had the pleasure of visiting this little slice of casino heaven, I encourage to see what Tunica, Mississippi has to offer. You might be pleasantly surprised.

    Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall - Has a rustic style, and is the oldest and largest casino in Tunica with 75,000 square feet of gambling space. The casino has two floors filled with your favorite slots and table games. Sam's Town offers three different options to fit all your dining needs. For luxury dining choose Twain's Steakhouse. They also offer the Smokey Joe's Snack Bar for a quick bite to eat and The Great Buffet featuring a variety of all your favorite foods. Their hotel offers over 840 rooms for your stay. If are are the traveling kind, they offer a RV park with 50 spaces available. Each private concrete pad has its own BBQ grill and picnic table. They offer around the clock shuttle service to and from the casino.

    Fitz Casino and Hotel - When entering the casino, a replica of Ireland's fabled Blarney Stone greets you. After a long day of gambling enjoy a meal in their Players Snack Bar or go back for seconds in their Riverview Buffet. If your are craving steak or sea food don't miss indulging at The Steakhouse. Their 500 plus hotel rooms and suites have all been recently renovated with your comfort in mind and offer such amenities as an indoor pool and exercise area. The Fitz has the only hotel in Tunica that looks out over the Mississippi River.

    Tunica Roadhouse Casino and Hotel - Enjoy some of the best action in Mississippi as soon as you walk through the swinging doors of this western themed casino. While you're in the casino, trying your luck at more than 1,100 slot machines, you will be entertained with the talent playing at The Riverstage Showbar. When hunger sets in, satisfy your appetite at the Roadhouse Diner. There you will find American, Cajun and Southern dishes. The Atrium is a cafe that offers breakfast dishes, fresh salads and sandwiches or satisfy your decadent cravings in their Chicago Steakhouse.     Horseshoe Casino and Hotel - Developed by Jack Binion, Horseshoe Casino pays homage to the classic throwback casinos.     Resorts Casino and Hotel - They offer up over 1,000 of the best slot machines in this 40,000 square foot casino. Catch live music nightly from the casino stage. When you need a break check out the Stage Bar and watch the "always on" sports game on their 12' by 8' video wall. Make sure you make reservations at 61 Grille to sample fine wine, and feast on mouth watering steak and lobster. If you are really feeling up to the challenge, eat at their American food joint, Big Burgers, and attempt to devour the 5 pound burger, named after the restaurant.     Bally's Casino and Hotel - When you see the big silo in the distance you know you have arrived at Bally's.
