I'll Have Another will try to become the first Triple Crown winner in 34 years making only a total of 12 Triple Crown winners! The Belmont Stakes will be ran on Sat June 9th at approximately 6:30 PM EST. (I've read a few different start times from 6:32 to 6:40 so get there a bit earlier because you don't want to miss this race.) Besides the possiblity of winning some money, horse racing enthusiasts will watch history possibly being made! Here are the post positions ... 1. Street Life, 12-to-12. Unstoppable U, 30-to-13. Union Rags, 6-to-14. Atigun, 30-to-15. Dullahan, 5-to-16. Ravelo's Boy, 50-to-17. Five Sixteen, 50-to-18. Guyana Star Dweej, 50-to-19. Paynter, 8-to-110. Optimizer, 20-to-111. I'll Have Another 4-to-512. My Adonis, 20-to-1 Want to place a bet or two on this race? Here's how .....From this article, How To Bet On Horse Racing, I think the easiest bets to place are these. WIN: A bet on a horse to win PLACE: A bet on a horse to finish either 1st or 2nd.SHOW: A bet on a horse to finish either 1st, 2nd or 3rd.Those are the standard bets that everybody is familiar with. They are simple, straight forward, it's easy to calculate the cost, and they are easy to make. Where things start to become more complicated is with what are known as the exotic bets. EXACTA: A bet picking the 1st and 2nd place finishers in a race. (you can choose how many horses you want in your bet and then *BOX the bet)TRIFECTA: A bet picking the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in a race. (you can choose how many horses you want in your bet and then *BOX the bet)SUPERFECTA: A bet picking the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place finishers in a race. (you can choose how many horses you want in your bet and then *BOX the bet)*A bet that is BOXED means that your selections can finish in any order. For example, say you like the #5 and #8 you want to play them in an exacta but you don't know which one you want to pick on top (to win). You could BOX those horses plus more (I boxed 5 horses in hopes 2 of them would come in first AND second in the KY Derby) in an exacta and you would win if any of those two finish first and second. The exacta box on 5 horses for 2 of them to come in first and second was the bet I made and won at the KY Derby. Some things to consider when placing your bets. 1. Shortest distance - The Preakness is the shortest of the three Triple Crown races at 1 3/16 miles. This means horses coming from off the pace won't have as much space to reel in the front runners.2. Weather - It looks like it's going to be a warm sunny day Saturday (mid-70s), so the track should be extremely fast. 3. Speed bias - The Preakness tends to favor early speed and front-running horses.4. Traffic - Keep an eye on post positions. 5. Travel schedule - Did the horse have to fly heavily between races?
