............ the people who make up the American government end up partying tonight for New Years instead of working overtime tonight to ensure that the so called Fiscal Cliff is taken care of! :cigar:All I can think is that these people in Congress are gonna get all dressed up to go party while the citizems of America get to wake up to higher taxes and spending cuts (which include loss of jobs for a lot of folks). Granted (per the President), they have been working on it, but come on already! If they hadn't taken their fancy vacations, their recesses, etc, they might have been able to take care of this in a timely fashion and not make it go to the 11th hour!!! :shoes:I cannot afford a tax hike. I don't care if it's $20 a paycheck! It adds up! :dollarsign:I am no political expert at all. I read, I listen to the news (oh great! I'm brainwashed already. lol) and I watch the President's news break speeches. He even is talking about his own Congress who can't seem to get anything done when it matters! :beard::shwing: Ok, rant over! I just had to get that off my chest. :gogirl:

You think they read my post? hahaha Kidding! The Seven Things You Need to Know About the Tax Deal

Matt Compton January 02, 2013
12:00 PM EST Last night, Republicans and Democrats in the House of Representatives joined the Senate in passing the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012. That means middle-class families won't see an increase in their income tax rates. We've avoided the fiscal cliff.President Obama will sign the legislation soon. Last night, he described the agreement as, one step in the broader effort to strengthen our economy and broaden opportunity for everybody. Under this law, more than 98 percent of Americans and 97 percent of small businesses will not see their income taxes go up, he said. Millions of families will continue to receive tax credits to help raise their kids and send them to college. Companies will continue to receive tax credits for the research that they do, the investments they make, and the clean energy jobs that they create. And 2 million Americans who are out of work but out there looking, pounding the pavement every day, are going to continue to receive unemployment benefits as long as they're actively looking for a job. We know that that a lot of people have questions about the deal, so we've pulled together some of the most important facts. Here are the seven things you need to know:<img class="imagecache imagecache-embedded_img_full" src="http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/imagecache/embedded_img_full/image/image_file/tax_deal_2013_0.jpg" title="Shift+R improves the quality of this image.
