If the measure comes up for a vote this month (July 2012), Texas Republican Congressman Joe Barton says that We've got the votes in the House if it comes up for a vote, .The HR 2366 is the measure - the Internet Gambling Prohibition, Poker Consumer Protection, and Strengthening UIGEA Act of 2011 - would essentially make online poker exempt from previous prohibition passed in 2006. Failure to pass the measure during the month of July will not render HR 2366 dead, however. Barton noted that such legislation could be passed during the lame duck session immediately following this year's Presidential Election in November, perhaps as an attachment to another bill. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid reportedly already has similar legislation drawn up. source
