FRISCO, TX (RNN) - A man gave more than a penny for his thoughts about getting a $220 speeding ticket. He dumped 22,000 pennies on the counter at Frisco Municipal Court as a protest when paying his ticket, according to KXAS. Brett Sanders was ticketed for driving nine miles per hour over the speed limit in his neighborhood. Even though police said he was exceeding the speed limit, he insisted he did nothing wrong. He fought the ticket in court and lost. "When my fine came due, I just decided I may as well pay with pennies and we'll make a big spectacle of it," Sanders said. He took $220 worth of pennies out of their rolls and put them in five-gallon buckets. The pennies took the clerks three hours to sort, and it turns out Sanders overpaid by $7.81.
