Story about Homey the catThe Homey-  This cat was dropped off in our area about 2 years ago he was about 2-3 years old . Shannons best friend is a vet . We trapped the cat took it up to her to be nuetered. She ran some test and found the cat had Feline Aids. Probably why he was abandoned.  So we brought it home knowing it had to stay outdoors , so as not to infect our cats. Well after a couple days of thinking about the situation we decided we better get rid of him, so the vet tech at the clinic said she would take him as she lives on a farm. So she took the cat. the next day she called said the cat is missing, we were kicking ourselves. The third day I get up to go to work, go outside and ITS THE CAT !!    This vet tech lives (18 miles away from us, we measured it after) . The cat had to cross an interstate, and numerous main throughfares to get back to us and his new home. Thus called him Homey said we would keep him after that journey. If you knew our area, the odds against him making it back here have to astronomical, loads of traffic. From that point forward this cat was always in our yard, never ventured anywhere day or night. Well about three months ago we noticed it was having trouble breathing, took it to the vet, it had bad asthma an effect of having aids. We had to start taking it there every two weeks for steriod shots. Sharon ,the vet, said the stress from the breathing was enlarging homeys heart, but that we could control this with meds and the steriod shots. So we summise either he had heart failure or his lungs just filled with too much fluid. Or maybe the lightning did get him. Anyway this was a big 15 pound Himalayan- tabby mix. A beautiful cat that will be missed.

BEING A CAT LOVER, THIS WAS A TRUELY TEARJERKING STORY TO HERE. HOMEY SEEMS TO HAVE AN ATTACHMENT TO YOU!! I GIVE PROPS TO YOU FOR DOING WHAT YOUVE DONE SO FAR FOR HOMEY, BUT IT SOUNDS, AS HARD AS IT IS TO SAY, MIGHT BE BEST TO PUT HIM/HER TO SLEEP...IF THE FELINE AIDS IS IN THAT MUCH OF AN ADVANCED STATE TO WHERE IT IS AFFECTING BREATHING AND HEART FUNCTION, IM SURE HOMEY IS IN PAIN AND IT MIGHT JUST BE BEST TO LAY HOMEY TO REST!
