Nevada and New Jersey, the 2 states that have almost a monopoly on land based gambling, now are in the running to dominate online gambling within the US. These are the 2 states, along with Delaware, that have online gambling laws in place. New Jersey's Gov Christie signed a law that legalized online gambling within NJ just a few days after Nevada's Gov Brian Sandoval made the same move. Deleware may be the closest when it comes to actually having sites operational by September of this year. The key factor to who will take over online gambling in the US is how well each state handles regulating gambling within their borders which in turn may expand to intrastate compacts.
