Slot Overview

Poseidon, one of the twelve gods of Mount Olympus and second in power only to Zeus, is making his debut in Rival’s newest slot release Rise of Poseidon. At birth, Poseidon was eaten by Kronos, his father, but later was saved with the help of his brother, Zeus, and a magical elixir that caused Kronos to release Poseidon. Poseidon then took his place with the other eleven Greek deities. Poseidon’s domain was the ocean, but he is also referred to as the ‘earth-shaker’ or ‘horse tamer’.

Rival’s newest video slot, Rise of Poseidon, is a five reel, thirty pay-line slot game with multipliers, expanding wilds and a free spins feature. The video slot game starts with a short video of Poseidon rising out of the sea in front of a Roman warship.

The symbols in this game are the 9-A card symbols carved from marble, sea turtles, a vibrant purple Kraken looking creature, angry looking teal seahorses and Roman warships. There are three more symbols with non progressive jackpots and those are a mermaid, a dolphin and a shark with the shark having the highest payout.

Poseidon himself is the wild symbol and has a multiplier of times two. Poseidon’s trident is the scatter and three or more will activate the free spins feature with up to 36 free spins being awarded. The free spins feature can be re-triggered during the free spins. Expanding wilds appear only during the free spins on reels one, two and three. Expanding wilds have a multiplier of two times during the free spins. Expanding wilds will expand to fill the entire reel whenever possible to form new ones.

While this game is not loaded with bells and whistles, I still found it very enjoyable and would definitely play it again. The wilds appeared frequently as did the free spins and my number of wins compared to losses was quite acceptable.

If you are ready to feel the power of a Greek god and seek treasures untold, you can check out Rise of Poseidon yourself at a Rival casino such as Desert Nights or Malibu Club.
